Who should take Skin Even IQ?

Skin Even IQ is for everyone who is concerned with pigmentation, also known as uneven skin tone, brown spots, age spots and sunspots. All Fitzpatric skin types from I to VI are at risk of pigmentation, but darker skin tones and middle-aged women can be more susceptible to this challenging skin condition. Skin Even IQ would also be suitable for anyone experiencing post inflammatory pigmentation (PIH), which is the discolouration left after problem skin.

What is pigmentation?

Pigmentation is a normal but complex process that determines the colour of our skin, hair, and eyes. It is controlled by specialised cells called melanocytes, which are found in the basal layer of the skin's epidermis. These cells produce a pigment called melanin, which is responsible for giving our skin its unique shade. When this complex process becomes unbalanced it can create pigmentation (Hyper = more, and pigment =colour), leading to darker patches, discolouration, and uneven skin tone.

Is it possible for pigmentation to get worse?

There are certain factors that contribute to worsening of brown spots/dark marks such as:

• Continued sun exposure without using any sun protection.

• Picking and squeezing spots.

What are the challenges during treatments for pigmentation?

Impatience and giving up too soon – achieving results take dedication and consistency. Inconsistent use of dedicated supplements, skincare products and SPF designed to address pigmentation.

How long should I take Skin Even IQ for?

Our skin researchers recommend taking Skin Even IQ for a minimum 3 to 6 months but you may wish to take it all year round in conjunction with regular topical treatments and SPF. Pigmentation can resurface again especially with too much sun exposure. Any skin trauma such as picking spots can cause post inflammatory pigmentation (PIH) to reappear.

How long will it take to see results?

Pigmentation can be stubborn and will require a 100% skincare approach including a combination of supplements, targeted treatments and topical creams, to address and fade this skin concern. Time and dedication are key when targeting pigmentation. According to the American Academy of Dermatology a spot that is a few shades darker than your natural skin colour may take from 6-12 months to fade and for more stubborn pigmentation, it can take years. Everyone’s journey is unique, so it’s important to be patient when starting your skincare journey. The results will come.

How do I get the best results?

Pigmentation starts when the body’s melanin production becomes unbalanced, which can be caused by a variety of factors, but the main trigger is from too much sun exposure. For optimum results, our researchers recommend taking Skin Even IQ, wearing an SPF daily to protect your skin from blue light and UV rays and remember to apply regularly to ensure maximum protection. Keep sun safe by wearing a hat to protect your forehead from blue light and UV rays from the sun. Additionally, wear long sleeves and cover up when out in the sun and stay in the shade during peak times. In addition, speak to a skincare professional to employ a 100% skincare approach combining supplements with targeted topical creams and treatments

Does pigmentation ever go away?

Time and dedication are key when targeting pigmentation. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, a spot that is a few shades darker that your natural skin colour may take from 6-12 months to fade and for more stubborn pigmentation, it can take years. So, it’s important to be patient when starting your skin brightening journey. Some pigmentation won’t completely disappear because the melanocytes may be too damaged and this can be difficult to repair, but with the right tools you can lighten and fade dark marks.
